Considering the ever-increasing statistics of emotional divorce and the importance of marital satisfaction and its related factors with emphasis on Islamic teachings, this research was conducted to determine the effect of the main family on marital satisfaction with the mediating role of marital empathy and attachment styles in couples in Yasouj City by Emphasizing Islamic Teachings. It used a correlation study from a descriptive one. 200 people were selected from all the couples of Yasouj city by the available sampling method. In the present study, Haustadt et al.'s (1985) questionnaire, Mehrabian's (2005) marital satisfaction questionnaire, Jolliffe and Farrington's (2006) attachment style questionnaire, and Hazen and Shaver's (1987) attachment style questionnaire were used to evaluate marital empathy. Partial least squares statistical method was used to analyze research findings. The findings showed that the family of origin was effective in marital satisfaction, marital empathy, and attachment styles in couples (p<.01). In addition, the family of origin has a significant effect on marital satisfaction with the mediating role of marital empathy and attachment styles in couples (p<.05). Also, marital empathy and attachment styles were effective in marital satisfaction in couples (p<.05). This study by integrating object relations theory with family of origin theory showed that a person's experiences with his parents or caregivers during childhood may impact his marital satisfaction in the future by affecting empathy and attachment styles following God's commandments.
