This research aims to analyze the narrative of grief experiences among mothers who have lost their children due to cancer. Method: The study employs narrative analysis with a sample of 14 mothers who have lost their children to cancer within the past three years, conducted in 2023 in Khomeini-Shahr, Isfahan.Findings: Using the narrative analysis method with seven categories and three main themes, including emotions directed towards the child, emotions towards others, and conflicting perceptions of spirituality, the study reveals that mothers, from the onset of the illness until after the child's passing, experience escalating feelings of sorrow, despair, and sometimes fear and anger. Good support and empathy from spouses, extended family, the hope instilled by physicians, maintaining connections, practicing religious rituals, and financial contributions to healthcare institutions (Mahak and Cancer Hospital) contribute to alleviating unpleasant grief emotions. Analysis of research codes indicates that nurses' impatience and the lengthy and painful process of chemotherapy intensify the grief and sorrow experienced by mothers. During this challenging period, a sense of spirituality is perceived as conflicting emotions of anger and satisfaction. Understanding and empathy with the experiences of grieving mothers can enhance their resilience in enduring the grief and suffering.
