Abstract

The aim of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of hijab and chastity education in the context of Surah Noor on the attitude towards hijab and self-control of middle school female students in Mashhad. The research is a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test and post-test design with a control group. 30 people were selected from among the statistical population using available sampling method and were randomly divided into 2 groups of 15 people, experimental and control. The experimental group received the hijab and chastity training protocol based on Surah Noor in eight 60-minute sessions, and the control group did not receive the training. Tanji's self-control questionnaire and Karimzadeh's hijab attitude questionnaire were used to collect data. The results of the covariance analysis showed that hijab and chastity education based on Surah Noor has a positive effect on self-restraint and aspects of students' attitude towards hijab. Therefore, education based on the Quran can be important in this field and by creating insight and understanding, it can lead students to a chaste life without any compulsion. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to educate and raise awareness along with legislation.
