Compilation of the sexual health education package and its effectiveness on the sexual performance of newly married working couples

Abstract

The purpose of the current research was to develop a sexual health education package and its effectiveness on the sexual performance of newly married working couples in 2022-2023. The research method was semi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of this research included newly married couples of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences. In order to select a statistical sample using the purposeful sampling method, 40 newly married couples of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences were selected to extract the components of sexual health and to investigate the effect of the independent variable (the educational package approach was compiled, 10 couples and 10 couples for the control group. were selected and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. It should be noted that the experimental group received sexual health education for 8 sessions of 40 minutes. Subjects in both groups responded to questionnaires on women's sexual performance and men's sexual performance before the intervention and after two weeks of sexual health education. The results of multivariate covariance analysis showed that the sexual health education intervention had a significant effect on the sexual performance of newly married couples (P=0.001). Therefore, it can be concluded that the sexual health education package can be used in pre-marital counseling and family counseling for the attention of psychologists and counselors to enrich the lives of couples.
