Investigating the role of moral engagement, daily spiritual experiences and self-esteem in the quality of life of Shahdasayararz students

Abstract

Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to predict quality of life based on moral commitment, daily spiritual experiences and self-discovery among the Martyrs and Disabled Veterans’ students Azad University of Arak. In this descriptive-co relational study, the population of 1098 people included all Martyrs and Disabled Veterans’ students in the academic year 2017-2018 in the Azad University of Arak, among which 285 persons (according to the Morgan table) were selected by available sampling method. In order to collect the research data, the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire - Short Form (WHOQOL-BREF), Moral Commitment Scale based on Kant and Levinas' Thoughts, Daily Spiritual Experiences Scale (DSES), Self-Discovery Scale (SDS), and Demographic Specification Form Was used. In this study, the reliability of these questionnaires was reviewed and confirmed. Data analysis was performed using Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regressions Software SPSS 22. The results of the statistical analysis showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between morale, daily spiritual experiences and self-discovering with quality of life. And moral covariance, daily spiritual experiences and self-esteem can substantially explain and predict the changes in quality of life among students. According to the results of this research, it is suggested that using methods to increase moral commitment, daily spiritual experiences and students' self-discovering, help to improve the quality of life among them.
