Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the mediating role of resilience in the relationship between parental conflict and psychological disturbance in adolescent girls. The research method was descriptive-correlational based on structural equation modeling. The statistical population of this study included all adolescent girls studying in (10th and 11th grades in theoretical fields) in district 3 of Mashhad in the academic year 2023-2024, among whom 102 individuals were selected by multi-stage cluster random sampling and completed the Sanaei Parental Conflict Questionnaire (1990), the Psychological Disturbance Questionnaire (DASS-21) by Lovibond and Lovibond (1995), and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Questionnaire (2003). Data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient and structural equation modeling by SPSS-22 and Smart PLS-3 software. Based on the results of statistical analysis, the path from parental conflict to resilience and resilience to psychological disturbance was significant (P<0.05), and also according to the Sobel test results, the resilience variable plays a significant mediating role in the relationship between parental conflict and psychological disturbance in adolescent girls (P<0.05). According to the results, it can be said that high parental conflict has a negative effect on the resilience of their daughters, and lower resilience of girls can create the ground for their higher psychological disturbance.
