The mediating role of wisdom in the relationship of hijab and mental health

Abstract

The aim of the present study was to investigate the mediator role of wisdom in the relationship between hijab and mental health. The research population consisted of all adult women living in Tehran. To carry out this research, 319 women were randomly selected from the spectrum of the full hijab to non-hijab and filled in the questionnaires of observing the hijab (OH), mental health index (MHI-28) and Ardlet's wisdom (3D-WS). Pearson's correlation test and Sobel's test were used to analyze the data. SPSS version 24 software was used and AMOS version 24 software was used for structural equation modeling. The results indicate a positive relationship between psychological well-being and hijab (r=0.203, P<0.001), a negative relationship between psychological helplessness and hijab (r=0.113, P<0.044), and a positive relationship between wisdom. And mental health (P=0.001 and Beta=0.50+) and the non-significance of the relationship between wisdom and hijab (P=0.855 and Beta=0.01). It is possible to help improve the state of hijab by helping to improve the level of mental health of the people of the society.
