Abstract

Law-abiding is a structure that can have cultural, social and psychological origins and has various consequences for people, many of which are related to people's mental health. Therefore, knowing the effect of law-abiding on variables related to mental health, such as psychological well-being and sexual self-control, is of particular importance. For this reason, in this research, a law-abiding intervention has been designed, and the aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of law-abiding intervention on sexual self-control and psychological well-being in inmate women. The research design used in this research is a single subject design. In order to carry out the research, three prisoners were selected who were referred to the relevant clinics based on the letter of the justice and criminal deputy of Qom city. Then all three people were subjected to 6 sessions of law-abiding intervention and in the form of a research with ABA design, Ryff psychological well-being questionnaire (1989) and Ismaili sexual self-control questionnaire (2014) as baseline tests, during implementation and follow-up (2 times with an interval of 1 month) completed. Data were analyzed descriptively and based on visual analysis (level, trend, variability). The results showed that law-abiding intervention has a positive effect on the psychological well-being and sexual self-control of female prisoners. Therefore, it seems that by implementing interventions related to law-abiding, it helped to improve the psychological well-being and sexual self-control of inmate women. For this reason, it is suggested that this intervention be included in educational and cultural programs related to prisons.
